Instructions for Use: (follow the guide in the image)
1. Measure the patient from shoulder to chin, with the head in a neutral position. Position the head in a neutral or “eyes forward” position.
2. Select the appropriate size cervical collar for the patient, as shown in step 2 (from the plastic edge to the sizing window). The Select has 4 positions.
3. Adjust the cervical collar and chin support according to the size selected in step 2.
4. Secure the sides by pressing the two locking tabs.
5. Pre-form the cervical collar.
6. Apply the cervical collar, holding the head in a neutral position with your hands. Place the chin support under the chin. If a different size is needed, remove the collar, adjust the size, and reapply the collar. Pull the collar around the neck, ensuring a good fit while holding the front in place. Then tighten.
7. If the patient is supine, slide the back panel behind the neck before applying the chin support.
8. Cannula hooks are provided on the cervical collar for securing oxygen tubing.
Warnings:
• Incorrect use may cause injury or permanent disability.
• Use the correct size cervical collar. A collar that is too large may extend beyond the patient’s cervical spine. A collar that is too small may not provide sufficient stability.
• Do not adjust Select cervical collars while on the patient!
